Gardens, Produce, Orchards and Laying Hens.
Surrounding the main house are year-round flower and herb gardens mixed with citrus, fig and persimmon trees as well as our famous raspberry beds. A walking trail leads to additional gardens on the ranch where we grow asparagus, melon, tomatoes, summer and winter squash, potatoes, onions, chard, peppers, broccoli, pumpkins and more, as well as orchards with heirloom apples, plums, nectarines, pears and peaches. All of our produce is free of pesticides and artificial fertilizer. Our ranch wide composting program enhances the health and vigor of our gardens and orchards. Our fresh produce and homemade jams and syrups are featured in each morning's breakfast. Our free range flock of heritage-breed laying hens began their life at Beltane as day old chicks in February 2009. They are now beginning to produce and will soon provide all the eggs for our guests' breakfasts.
